Clip from 'Triumph of the Youth'
This clip is taken from the Nazi propaganda film entitled 'Triumph of the youth. The film was commissioned by the Nazi Party to Leni Riefenstahl and was a highly effective propaganda tool as Hitler's control over Germany grew. The film premiered at the Berlin Ufa Palace Theater on March 28, 1935.
Controversy over the Olympic Games of 1936

The 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin caused international controversy about whether participating was appropriate amidst recent radical ideology of the Nazi party coming to public discussion. Seen here are signs in America calling for a Boycott of the games.

From 1941 to 1943 the Jewish population of Berlin was forcibly deported to ghettos and subsequently concentration camps. Berlin had the highest population of Jews in Germany before the deportation began.

Berolina Statue and Warenhaus Teitz

One of the few significant buildings in Berlin that survived WWII, the Warenhaus Teitz was a textile department store owned by Hermann Teitz. In the foreground is the famous Berolina Statue.
