The Museum of the City was incorporated in 2003 with the goal of creating a virtual, Web-based international museum of cities.
Founded by urban historian and museum director Chet Orloff, the Museum of the City is a nonprofit corporation overseen by a board of directors and operated by students at Portland State University.
